
| Isshinryu Karate Isshinryu is a style of Okinawan karate formed by a synthesis of two great karate styles. The name means, literally, "one heart" or "whole heart" way. This is an extremely effective style that has been refined to eliminate flashy unnecessary techniques. This leaves only the most effective techniques. This art does not use uncomfortably low stances or difficult acrobatics. Because of this it is not necessary to be an expert athlete to attain proficiency in this style. It will with practice develop strength, endurance, balance and high self esteem. Students will learn to defend themselves against unarmed and armed assailants. Advanced students will study weapons such as the staff, Sai and tonfa. |
| Chinese Kung Fu Kung Fu can be translated to "Skill through time and effort" Our system is primarily a Monkey style and although it uses the animals of the Shaolin style they are looked at through the monkeys eyes. Kung Fu focuses on relaxed flowing speed and power. Breath control and meditaion are major themes. It will develop balance ,precision and flexibility. Students will learn open hand forms as well as forms for staff and bladed weapons. |
