Styles and Class Info
Isshinryu Karate

Isshinryu is a style of
Okinawan karate
formed by a synthesis of
two great  karate styles.
The name means,
literally, "one heart"  or
"whole heart" way. This
is an extremely
effective style that has
been refined to
eliminate flashy
unnecessary techniques.
This leaves only the
most effective
techniques. This  art
does not use
uncomfortably low
stances or difficult
acrobatics. Because of
this it is not necessary
to be an expert athlete
to attain proficiency in
this style. It will with
practice develop
strength, endurance,
balance and high self
esteem. Students will
learn to defend
themselves against
unarmed and armed
assailants. Advanced
students will study
weapons such as the
staff, Sai and tonfa.
Chinese Kung Fu

Kung Fu can be
translated to "Skill
through time and
effort"

Our system is
primarily a Monkey
style and although it
uses the animals of
the Shaolin style they
are looked at through
the monkeys eyes.
Kung Fu focuses on
relaxed flowing
speed and power.
Breath control and
meditaion are major
themes. It will
develop balance
,precision and
flexibility. Students
will learn open hand
forms as well as
forms for staff and
bladed weapons.
