5) Demonstrate two sparing combinations.
6) Spar with Weapons formed.
Sichi-Kyu (Green Belt)
1) Improvement in all requirements for Ku-Ky.u
2) Explain Bunkai for Empi Kata.
3) Know Lineage of Isshinryu
4) Perform Siesan Kata reasonably well.
5) Standard kicks ( Roundhouse,crescent,reverse crescent etc..)
Roku-Kyu (Blue Belt)
1) Improvement in all requirements for Hachi-Kyu.
2) Explain Bunkai for Siesan Kata.
3) Explain form of hand strikes and kicks.
4) Teach upper bodies and Basic kicks
5) Perform Seiuchin Kata reasonably well.
6) Demonsterate at least two hold breaks.
Go-Kyu (Purple Belt)
1) Improvement in all requirements for Sichi-Kyu.
2) Explain Bunkai of Seiuchin Kata.
3) Demonstrate at least 4 self defense Techniques.
4) Perform Naihanchin Kata reasonably well.
5) Explain Maegami and WIKC emblems.
6) Spar with Irime (enterining) Techniquies.
Chi-Kyu (Brown Belt)
1) Improvement in all requirements for Roku-Kyu.
2) Explain Bunkai of Naihanchin Kata..
3) Explain why we learn Martial arts.
4) Perform Wansu Kata reasonably well
5) Show disipline,respect and strength in the Dojo.
6) Spar with control using take downs.
San-Kyu (1 Stripe Brown Belt)
1) Improvement in all requirements for Go-Kyu.
2) Explain Bunkai for Wansu Kata.
3) Be an example to others of how behave in the Dojo .
4) Perform Chinto Kata reasonably well
5) Assist in teaching Kata and technique.
6) Board Breaks
Ni-Kyu (2 Stripe Brown Belt)
1) Improvement in all requirements for San-Kyu.
2) Explain Bunkai from Chinto Kata.
3) Strike Sensei with power and control.
4) Perform Kusanku Kata reasonably well
5) Board breaks
6) Know History Of Issinryu Kata learned so far.
Sho-Dan (1st Degree Black Belt)
1) Improvement in all requirements for Ni-Kyu.
2) Know history of Isshinryu Kata Learned so far.
3) Explain how Karate relates to Kung Fu.
4) Know your Karate Lineage.
5) Shimé Testing of Sanchin Kata.
6) Perform SunSuKata reasonably well
7) All Katas with Bunkai and solid form.
8) Spar all ranks of students with control and good technique.
9) Explain why YOU want to be a black belt.
10) Additional Tests assigned by Sensei.
Sensei at any time. It is Sensei's decision what requirements each individual must meet. Also remember, it is considered very rude in the martial arts world to ask your Sensei when you will be promoted.
