Kyoshi Dave Machmer, Hachidan is the chief Instructor for the Wauconda
Isshinryu Karate Club. Sensei Machamer received his Shodan from Master
Jesse Gallegos (Kudan) in 1979. He received his Rokudan from Master
Gallegos in 1992. Sensei Machamer is also a second degree Black Sash in
Chi-Tao-Kwon-Tsu Kung Fu under Sifu Tony Estramirez. Sensei Machamer
has been teaching Karate since 1982 to both children and adults. In 2003, the
Wauconda Park District recognized Sensei Machamer for his exceptional
service and commitment to the community.

Sensei Michael Edfors has studied the martial arts since the age of thirteen
(1988).He started his training with Sensei Machamer in Isshinryu Karate
and attained the rank of Sho-dan in 1999. In 2008 he was awarded the
rank of Go-Dan (5th Degree Black-belt ) in Isshinryu Karate. He has also
made serious study of The arts of Kung Fu, Chi Kung and dabbled in
Aikido and Jui-Jitsu. Sensei Michael has made the martial arts an integral
part of his life and has practiced with many great martial artists.
